Hessien – Calcifer / Miaou – Bring The Lights
Out now and with just a few physical copies left via the Sound In Silence label at the time writing, is the marvelous new EP from far-flung duo Hessien. Tim Martin (Maps and Diagrams) and Charles Sage (y0t0) have previously combined as Hessien on EPs for Audio Gourmet, Fluid Audio and Tim’s Handstitched imprint. Their magnificent album Home Is Where The Ghost also came out on Handstitched and the textured beauty of ‘Calcifer’ picks up nicely where they left off back in 2010.

Released alongside the Hessien EP is the Bring The Lights EP by Miaou, which definitely deserves a mention whilst we’re writing a post about Sound In Silence releases. As with Hessien, a textured Ambient quality is present although the beats and kaleidoscopic melodies move things in an infectious post-rock/electronica direction.
