Kez YM – Late Night Blue Sound EP

 

Crucial wax by Kez YM out now on City Fly recordings, complete with a remix by legendary producer Andres. I first heard main track ‘Late Night Remedy’ months ago on a James Johnston mix and have been waiting for this 12″ to drop ever since. The anticipation has been made all the more worth it, not least for the inclusion of Andres’ excellent remix. The deep but groovy opener ‘Late Night Remedy’ packs more than enough for the floor but the deep chords and vocal accents give it some added substance. Andres’ remix takes things deeper as you’d imagine, more in keeping with the late night sounds as suggested by the track title.

On the flip, the excellent ‘Ladder Of Smoke’ jacks things up a little as this talented Japanese producer further demonstrates his production techniques. Despite the garagey feel to the rhythm, this is one seriously deep cut. Closing the EP is ‘Sneak Into You’, a loopy piece with plenty of groove that hints more towards an electronic vibe.
