La Petite Vague – Treize
For our very first post of the year on Irregular Crates of what is sure to be a busy year sees the return of the Audio Gourmet Netlabel. Treize by La Petite Vague is the label’s free EP since September – you can check it out by hitting ‘play’ above or by clicking HERE
La Petite Vague is Italian duo Nicola Fornasari and Diego Balconi who experiment primarily using piezo-amplified objects, unusual DIY instruments and effects, live looping, extended techniques, feedback loops and circuit bending. The live performances and recordings are unique and unplanned. At the end of last year La Petite Vague released Lotus Sacré, a single long-form piece available on their Bandcamp site. Now, they present their EP for Audio Gourmet, our first release for 2014
Treize was created using a simple piezo amplified music box as the only audio generator as part of this improvised recording session, It was routed to two pedalboards and then effected and looped independently. This short set of recordings flows unobtrusively like gentle ocean waves, represented by the beautiful artwork of Peter Nejedly
