Fouk – Kill Frenzy EP

Fouk

After a string of excellent Deep House albums emerging in the last 12 months with particularly notable releases from the likes of Glenn Astro, Frits Wentink and co – we’ve been keeping our eyes peeled for more of the same, with daily checks for new and notably Jazzy House records. One such that has been particularly impressive is this 3 track EP from the Fouk alias which is a collaboration between Junktion’s Hans Peeman and Daniel Leseman. It dropped on the reliable Heist imprint and for your money you’ll get three equally playable cuts. The title track includes a funky bassline, riding hi-hats, woozy keys and hints of brass. ‘Lefty’s Bar’ goes a little deeper with some hints of soul and plenty of funk – that brass starts to take more of a centre stage as the track moves on. ‘Ken Sent Me’ is much dubbier and perhaps this may get it the most plays in the scene as it’ll work nicely on the dancefloor. Still nice and Deep.
