Reginald Omas Mamode IV – All Together EP
It wasn’t a hard decision to grab a copy of Reginald Omas Mamode IV’s latest record ‘All Together EP’. We were drawn to it in seeing Jeen Bassa’s name as a feature on one of the tracks and the record as a whole doesn’t disappoint. It opens out with ‘Real Thing’, that collaboration with Jeen Bassa which is easily my favourite piece – slow and deep vibes, warm bass and smooth vocals. On his own, Reginald continues the chilled contemporary funk set out in the opening track through various warm, instrumental Hip Hop noodlings all with his own vocals.
This South London sound seems to be picking up pace at the moment and ‘All Together’ is a most welcome, stand-out addition. This all-to-short record closes with the aptly titled ‘Bye’ which is another stand-out piece with warm keys, vocals and cowbells.
