Pascal Pinon – Sundur
There’s always such a wealth of emerging talent from Iceland with artists such as Johann Johannsson, Hildur Gudnadottir and Olafur Arnalds having received critical acclaim in recent years. The latest discovery, at least for me is Pascal Pinon with the duo’s latest album released last month. The record is a set of 11 songs that showcase not only the vocal talents of sisters Ásthildur and Jófríður but also the exceptional work of their composer-father Áki Ásgeirsson. The vocals for me draw comparisons to Cortney Tidwell whilst the composition fits the mould of Johannsson, Arnalds and also Frahm and Broderick
