Michael Claus – Assorted Tracks Vol. 2

This week I’ve been grabbing a lot of Dub/Ambient Techno and stumbled across Michael Claus‘ ‘Assorted Tracks Vol. 2‘ as the standout record. It also led me to download last year’s self-titled album (also on Jacktone) which is equally as good. The record begins with the tracky arpeggios of ‘Reflections‘ before progressing through an assortment of Deep, minimal or dubby tracks. The pieces are never your average Techno banger but that makes for a more engaging listen, suitable for the long player.
The standout piece would be the square kick drum, deep keys and electric piano vibes of ‘March 22nd‘ and things progress until the dying moments play out as a short Ambient drone, in ‘Outro‘.
