Dead Light – Dead Light

We’ve been following Village Green for quite some time and Adrian Corker’s ‘Raise’ has to be one of our favourite Ambient/Modern Classical albums in recent years. The latest release on the label is really quite impressive too, and it does recall Corker’s work although at first glance/play of the audio samples, it raises questions. Why have I never heard of Dead Light before?
On closer inspection, the names on the liner notes answer these questions: Anna Rose Carter joins Ed Hamilton for this debut release here and the utter quality of execution make perfect sense. I recall a recent interview Anna did for the Hibernate Records show presented by Jonathan Lees and she did throw this project forward.
This is something I have a feeling that I’ll be playing a lot for the rest of the year and beyond and is an absolute must-have for any fan of the modern Ambient/Classical scene.
